#6parks1day Round 2

So here I am back in Florida at the All Star Music Resort ready for Round 2 of #6parks1day.  The first time was mostly a success until I ran into a the winter storm that shut down Atlanta in January which delayed my return so I didn’t make my last criteria of total trip time.  The goals of the trip are to visit the 4 Disney parks (Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, Hollywood Studios, and Animal Kingdom) and the 2 Universal parks (Islands of Adventure and Universal Studios), ride at least 2 rides in each park, and do the whole trip in 36 hours from Knoxville.  The first part of the trip went well, making it to Orlando in 9 hours.  The fun starts tomorrow with EMH at EPCOT starting at 8 am. Look for tweets at the various rides and parks throughout the day to keep up with the progress.  I am off the bed to get rested up for all the walking and excitement.  Good night to all!

Great First Day at Diagon Alley

While I had great expectations for Diagon Alley, I can definitely say that they were exceeded and then some.  Starting with the London facade, including the Knight Bus and 12 Grimmauld Place, it pulls you in and once you are in it is all encompassing.  The tall buildings block out the outside world in a way that the original Hogsmeade does not.  And the shops are a level above as well.  I was surprised at how many new things that I wanted to buy considering that I have been coming down here since the beginning.  All that being said, I was amazed even more by Kings Cross station and the Hogwarts Express.  The attention to detail and making you feel like you are there is incredible and I can’t wait to ride again today.  Escape from Gringotts awaits so I have to head that.  More to come!

A Long Absence

So after a long spell of not updating, I have finally found the time to come back and spin things back up.  While the actual theme park portion of #6parks1day was a success, getting home turned out to be problematic due to weather.  I will work on providing a belated recap of that prior to attempting it again in September.  I also made very fun and successful trips to March and May and will be heading back to Orlando this weekend to visit Diagon Alley.   I am incredibly excited and can’t wait to get down there as waiting a month since opening has been no fun but I hope it has allowed them to work out some of the kinks.   I hope to be able to make several posts while I am down there about all of the new attractions, food and drink, and merchandise.  If anybody has already been, I would love to hear about your experience.  Look for updates starting on Sunday.  Have a great rest of the week!
